Granite State Ringers

HTML, CSS, WordPress

A community handbell choir, the Granite State Ringers has members from various parts of the state of New Hampshire. One of those members is Dan Headley, a good friend of mine who has enlisted my help on multiple projects in the past, so it was only natural that I was involved in this site from the beginning. I developed the original HTML and CSS used for the first few years of the site’s existence, during which time it consisted of a series of static pages.

Recently, though, Dan wanted to switch the site over to WordPress to allow other members of the group to update pages and post news items. I used the existing pages as the basis for a series of WordPress template files, adding the appropriate WordPress tags where needed. I also set up and configured a WordPress installation, including a few plugins to provide specific functionality that was needed.

I also took the opportunity to make changes to the site design, particularly the homepage. The changes allowed the news section to fit better on the homepage and made site navigation more visible.
